About this Outreach
The Strip Church has already established itself in Las Vegas in various Conventions, Strip Clubs and work along the Las Vegas strip. The biggest question we always get asked is... Are you really a church? Where do you guys meet?
We are not here to build a church but to be the church. We want to show love to every person in Las Vegas, from homeless people and card flickers, to tourists and newlyweds. We do this by meeting tangible needs such as these:
-Free Rides on the Strip: We have an awesome bus that reads "Jesus Loves Sin City". We drive this up and down the Las Vegas strip and offer free rides to those who are waiting to pay for public transportation. People are not only shocked by the bus and the artwork on it, but the fact that there is really no catch to receiving a free ride. We play a variety of modern music (and some 80's depending on the mood of the driver), have fun conversations, and give out Jesus Loves Sin City bibles as souvenirs!
-Tunnels: Twenty feet below billions of dollars of construction and millions being won and lost daily in the casinos, there’s a whole different world where many people call "home". These people have become some of our dearest friends. We visit these tunnels on a weekly basis offering food, clothing, and a message that they are loved. We partner with other agencies in Nevada, offering rehab, housing, and jobs when they are ready for those things. We are committed to bringing love and hope to some of the darkest areas of Las Vegas.
-Weddings: There are Wedding Chapels at every turn on the Las Vegas strip, but where else can you find a Strip Church Wedding Chapel on wheels? We'll provide the minister, the music, and the atmosphere. You just bring 15 of your closest friends on our artistically wrapped bus, and get ready for a Wedding that so many will envy!
-Card Flickers: Along the strip, our Spanish friends stand day and night, passing out cards with naked woman plastered all over them. These people are very hard workers trying to provide for their families in the any way they can. On a weekly basis, we offer free cheeseburgers and waters and encourage them that they are cared for. We have spanglish (a mix of our english and their spanish) conversations and offer them Spanish bibles and a Spanish church that they can get connected to if they have that desire.
Free Strip Pics with Rex the Rabbit: The Las Vegas Strip offers many photographic opportunities. From Elvis, Johnny Depp, to an array of Super Heroes, you can see it all in Vegas, and spend a pretty penny as they work for "tips". Rex the Rabbit, The Strip Church's human sized, rabbit mascot trumps them all! He can be seen near the Bellagio Fountains, and works for free taking pictures with anyone walking by. He has been known to beg, dance, and curtsy his way into the hearts of tourists all over the strip!
